My Best UEFA Champions League Moments as a Barcelona Fan

The UEFA Champions League is Europe most prestigious club football competition, it is seen by most people to be the best football competition after the FIFA World Cup, every year the competition becomes better and more interesting than ever with top teams from various parts of the European continent coming to compete for the most desired trophy in
club football today.

I have been watching the UEFA Champions League since 2006 when Barcelona defeated Arsenal in the finals of that season's UEFA Champions League and as such I had become a Barcelona fan, from that period up until now it has been a bitter-sweet experience as a Barcelona fan, disappointments as well as success has been the highlight of supporting this team, Barcelona has always been consistent participant in the UEFA Champions League and there have been best moments I have enjoyed as a fan with the team's participation in this Europ's elite club competition, today I bring to my best moments in the UEFA Champions League as a Barcelona fan, let's look at it real quick.

Number 4: Manchester United Vs Barcelona 2008/2009 Finals

This was Pep Guardiola first season as Barcelona coach and he had already been doing well with the team as Barcelona haven claimed two trophies already that season were looking for a third, Barcelona were coming into this match a clearly underdogs against a Manchester United side that was managed by then Sir Alex Ferguson who had defeated Barcelona in the semi-finals of the previous season and we're currently the title holder and also had in its rank the world best player in person of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Barcelona went on to win the game 2-0 with goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi, this win gave Barcelona an historic treble and also opened up a domineering era for the club.

Number 3: Real Madrid Vs Barcelona 2010/2011 Semi-final first leg

As a Barcelona fan games against Real Madrid are always an intense one, so when Barcelona were paired against Real Madrid in semi finals of that year's final, it was certainly going to be a cracker with the first leg played at the Santiago Bunabua home of Real Madrid , Real Madrid was been coached by Jose Mouriho, who had won the Champions League title the previous year with Inter Milan having knocked out Barcelona in the semi-finals of that season's competition, the game was really a well contested one with both teams not wanting to slip off but with just two magical moments of brilliance towards the end of the game from Lionel Messi who was at the time world best player put Barcelona in the driving sit to the final, the second leg ended a 1-1 draw with Barcelona going on to win the competition that year.

Number 2: Barcelona Vs PSG 2016/2017 Round of 16 second leg

This game is dappled by many as the greatest comeback in the history of the competition, Barcelona had been beaten 4-0 in France During the first leg and all hope of making it to the the quarter final seem lost, but it wasn't to be so as a Neymar inspired Barcelona side defeated PSG side 6-1 to make it to the quarter final of that Season competition, Barcelona didn't go on to win the competition that season but this game was in it self worth a trophy.

Number 1: Chelsea Vs Barcelona 2008/2009 semi-finals second leg

This is till date my best UEFA Champions League moment as a Barcelona fan, prior to this second leg Barcelona had played out a null draw against Chelsea at the Camp Nou, Chelsea who had been finalist in the previous season competition were gunning for another, the game started and Chelsea were already one goal up, Barcelona strgguled but the defensive tactics of the Chelsea team was just so good, hope seen to be all gone for Barcelona but in 93rd minute of the game Andres Iniesta scored a a late stunner which sent Barcelona into the final on the basis of an away goal.
